The 2026 Annual Exhibition comprises an Artwork Exhibition and a M.F.A. Year One Display. The exhibited works are selected from open submissions across the Department, which will be displayed at Sir Run Run Shaw Hall, International House 4 and the Hui Gallery. The M.F.A. Year One Display will take place at the New Asia College Ch’ien Mu Library, presenting works by three M.F.A. students, LAU Ching Hei, LAU Jin Ki and YUEN Nga Chi. Despite their diverse choice of media, each of them utilizes images as either a conceptual anchor or a facilitator for their practice. LAU Ching Hei investigates how lines constitute the body, by using the act of sketching as an allegory to explore the implications of contemporary body images. LAU Jin Ki examines the evolution of ceramics from raw materials to form, tracing the ways in which memory is archived, milder and converted. Derived from life and work environment, YUEN Nga Chi’s work is frequently presented through the medium of video, which is characterized by prose-like narratives and visual journals.
# Foyer of Sir Run Run Shaw Hall will be temporarily closed on 30 May (Saturday), 1 June (Monday), 19 June (Friday), Saturday pm and Sunday. Other exhibition areas will remain open as scheduled.
