[Information of Art Talk]

We are honored to invite artist Mr. Trevor Yeung to join our art talk this year, in conversation with Professor Yim Sui-fong of our department, under the theme 【Artificial Environments in Art: Ecological Metaphors and the Reconfiguration of Relationships】.Together, they will explore the role and significance of human-made natural landscapes in installation art.

Mr. Yeung has represented Hong Kong to participate in the Venice Biennale (2024). And He has participated in multiple biennales before, such as the Singapore Biennale (2022), and the Lyon Biennale (2019). His upcoming solo exhibition, “Trevor Yeung: Courtyard of Detachments,” will open at M+ on June 14. His installation works often employ plant ecosystems, horticulture, and aquarium systems as vessels for emotion, investigating social structures and human relationships.

This talk invites Mr. Yeung to share his works related to artificial ecologies, discussing how observations and transformations of biological traits in artistic expression help interpret metaphors for society and systems. Additionally, the conversation will examine how mediums and environments interact to guide audiences in perceiving intimacy, relationships, and affect.
