With Whom Do I Sit?
“With whom do I sit?” is cited from Su Shi’s famous line: “With whom do I sit? The bright moon, the cool breeze, and myself.” It symbolizes a deep dialogue of the soul in art. This questions not only the creator, the artistic conception, tradition, or society, but serves as self-reflection.
Although the process of creation exists with both loneliness and romance, often accompanied by the moon and breeze, when we visit the beauty of art with classmates, this loneliness turns into the joy of understanding—”splitting the wind and moon evenly”—so that the journey of art is not travelled alone.
Eighteen students, in this sometimes chill summer, sit with you to share the wind and moon.
